Well after a great leg workout at the gym today I decided to spend some time with the family playing some hopscotch. I’m not going to lie, I’m not as agile as I was when I was a kid. My hip started hurting after a few rounds. In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I had a hip pinning on my right hip back in 2006, but that’s a story for another day.
Even though my hip bothered me a little, I had a really good time. It was fun and a wonderful stress reliever. I think if we did a little more of the things we enjoyed doing as little kids we might not be so stressed all the time. I mean, why don’t we play hide and seek or tag? Is it because it’s too childish or maybe it just takes too much energy, haha. Anyways, I won’t ramble on for much longer. I did work on my online business for a few hours, played with a few designs and tweaked some of the advertising campaigns we have running on Facebook and Instagram. Little by little I’m getting the hang of it.
It’s 12:23 am in my neck of the woods and here I am still awake with my phone glued to my face. I’m not gonna lie, I’m mentally tired. Today was a long day and I didn’t even get to the gym. That last part makes me sad. We spent the majority of the day behind a computer processing orders and coming up with new designs. It’s pretty overwhelming. For some reason I figured running an online business was going to be a piece of cake, boy was I wrong!
I spent a lot of time also creating two ads on Facebook, honestly I was getting frustrated because they were just not coming up the way I wanted them. I need to mess with their ad management software a little more because all the analytics have me a little confused. Anyways, I love learning new things and this new venture is definitely teaching me something on a daily basis.
I think I’ll end this one here, I should get some sleep. Hopefully I can get to the gym sometime tomorrow. Throwing some weight around always makes me feel better. Until next time friends, stay safe.
For any of you out there that are used to taking a pre workout before you hit the gym….well you guys will know exactly how I feel when I tell you I’ve been having to workout without supplements. Man, oh man, it sucks. I hate not having that little extra jolt of energy to push out a few more reps. I even miss the prickly tingly feeling I get from the beta alanine.
I stopped taking my preworkout about a week ago because it was making me sick. I think it has too much caffeine and I’m a big coffee drinker as it is. I was taking NO Xtreme. I’m just gonna have to hold off until I find another good preworkout supplement. Let me know if you guys have any good preworkout recommendations.
Enough of that, I told you guys I was going to share of our new designs that way you guys have an idea of what our online store is about. Again, feel free to give me your thoughts on them. I personally really like the Pump Iron one. Right now we are going through a fulfillment center which seriously cuts into our profits but until we grow and can become more independent and eliminate the middle man, well, until then we are just gonna have to be satisfied with the profits we make. Here are a few of the designs.
Anyways guys, its getting late and I’m dead tired. I’ll catch up again with you all tomorrow. Until then stay safe and motivated and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do something! PROVE THEM WRONG.
It’s been about 2 years since my last post. I believe at that time I was still thinking about competing in fitness. Those plans have changed since then. My reasons? Well I think it just boils down to it just wasn’t for me. Although I love fitness and working out, I don’t think I’m willing to do certain things that many of the top level female competitors are willing to do and I’m not talking about hard work. We’ll just end the subject there.
Fast forwarding to now, I still love fitness but until I can open up my own gym, I’ve decided to venture into an online apparel business. Yup, it’s a bit scary considering this is my first time doing something like this! Anyways, I figured I would take you all along the way. It’s good to have people give you input on certain things and I think it would be beneficial to my business to get the opinion of others. Plus I think it would be kinda nice to have you all see my company grow from the start.
I’ll still be sharing all my fitness stuff as well. Sharing ideas and recepies and workouts. It will all go hand in hand anyways since my online store caters mainly to fitness, military, and law enforcement.
Disciple Apparel is the name of our business. You guys can go check it out, it’s only 1 month old so be gentle with the criticism, haha. But honestly, go check it out and give me your thoughts maybe even a few thumbs up and likes on Facebook and all our other social media. I’ll post a few of our designs tomorrow.
In the meantime, you guys take care and stay safe!
What’s up guys? Just giving you guys a quick update like I promised. I won’t be able to give you guys my measurements until maybe a few weeks from now since I won’t be seeing my trainer for about 1-2 months. I’m temporarily relocating to San Antonio but I will still be training, my trainer will be sending me my workout plan over email in the meantime. I’m keeping up with the same macros for now, he will tweak my nutrition some more once I get back.
In other news, my trainer will be competing in the Olympia Latin America over this weekend, I know he’s going to do great, he’s very dedicated to his sport.
I will be staying with family while I’m visiting San Antonio so it’s going to be a bit challenging prepping my food but I will let you guys know how I managed it! Wish me luck!
Alright guys, I need to hit the road so I will catch up with you guys later! Take care and stay motivated!
Hi guys, how ya’ll doing? I’m not doing so good today. I’m feeling pretty sick right now and its all thanks to a little guy called soy milk. I’m terribly allergic to it, that and all kinds of other things like almonds, peanuts, avocados, cherries, apples…..pretty much anything delicious! I actually wasn’t born with any of these allergies they just kinda crept up on me back in 2004. Maybe its all those damn vaccines they give us in the military, haha. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it!
Soy milk was actually the first thing I realized I was allergic to. I took a sip of some back in 2004 and all of a sudden my whole mouth became itchy, my throat felt like it was closing shut and my stomach hurt. Well, today I went to Starbucks and I ordered an Iced Chai Latte since its so damn hot over here in Texas, 114 degrees today, and once I finished it my stomach felt horrible! My throat started itching and the inside of my mouth was so red. I figure that maybe they either accidentally made my latte with soy milk or they didn’t properly clean the blender before they made my drink and the previous customer probably ordered something with soy in it. Either way, today I wasn’t able to work out since I ended up taking Benadryl for the allergic reaction and it knocked me out. My stomach still hurts. Tomorrow will be a better day plus I get my new shipment of supplements!! Yay!
Anyways, any of you with food allergies can probably understand how tedious it is to have to watch everything you eat especially at restaurants. Its bad enough that we already have limited choices when we are eating clean or prepping for competition, now add some food allergies in there and you really have to watch what you eat. My protein choices are limited, many of the protein powders out there have soy in them, even the whey powder ones. Edamame is out of the question for me. Many fruits and veggies also, mangos, carrots, snap peas, the list is endless. I’m always really careful when ordering supplements or trying out new protein bars or shakes. It becomes such a pain!
Alright guys, this is getting kinda long, just wanted to let you guys know I’m still here even though I didn’t get to work out today. My stomach isnt feeling too good and my throat is sore but I’m going to take some more benadryl right now and call it a night. hope you all have a great night and may tomorrow be wonderful and your workouts productive!
Hey guys! How’s it going? First off, I am so sorry I haven’t been better at keeping this blog up to date! I know I had some of you wondering whether I gave up on wanting to compete. No I haven’t! I’m still going through some personal hardships but I’m still hitting the gym and working out with my trainer 5-6 days a week! I’m not giving up on this so easily so don’t worry about me quitting! Still, thank you so much for your comments and keeping up with my journey, you guys keep me motivated!! thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!
So let me give you a quick update. My trainer and I are still working out 4 days a week together, and I do cardio 5-6 days a week. My workouts keep changing on a weekly basis, anything from the amount of reps, weight, type of exercise keeps ever changing. I am also officially part of my trainers bodybuilding/fitness competition team known as Campuzanos Body Nation. Some of his athletes are competing this coming Saturday. We decided I will probably do my first competition sometime in October, he’s thinking the Europa Show, once my life gets back to normal. Like I had mentioned before, I’m not rushing onto the stage unless both my trainer and me are 100% sure I am ready. I think my weigh-in and measurements will be in about two more weeks so I will give you guys those number at that time. Other than that guys like I said, I’m still going strong, still planning on competing!
I really do appreciate all the comments, I promise you guys I will start updating on a weekly basis and not leave you guys hanging for months at a time! haha, I always complained about bloggers that do that and that I follow and here I am doing the same damn thing! i will leave you guys with a few pics that show more or less where I am at now. Thanks again for all the motivation and positiveness!
